Josie, as she is called, is the prefect image of what a large, full bodied Gelderlander mare should look like and her pedigree reflects that. Our herd Gelders stud, Alonzo, is her sire and he defiantly  passed on his easy going characteristics to this mare. She was purchased and added to our broodmare band in 2024 not only because of her pedigree, but she also has the wide beautiful blaze down her face that flows over her nostrils and all legs have white just below the knees and hocks. She was a no brainier to purchase to fit in to our breeding program. Again you can see the blood lines at work when our 10 year old granddaughter (who is a beginning rider) takes to the pasture to catch Josie, halters her, brings her through the gate and tacks her up to ride her and Josie is all fine with it.
